there and back again

we spent a lovely week in cambridge (bookended by two holiday weekends: victoria day/may two four and memorial day), catching up with old friends and enjoying the start of summer.

lunch with elias and julia at tampopo. new things from jcrew to tide me over until i can fit into my old things. new saltwater sandals in light brown (where did my old pair go??). oh, and i finally received my diploma and a funny little puffy velvet hat and tassel.

next sunday is our sixth anniversary. we're scheming weekend trips to montreal and the algonquin provincial park as well as a month-long stay in southern california. hooray for summer and half-days in the office!

Refinery29 Reserve deals--Bird and Eaton Trading Co.

Refinery29 Reserve has deals for Bird and Eaton Trading Co right now. There's some overlap in designers, so depending on what you want to get, you might save more going with ETC ($150 for $300) or Bird ($100 for $200).

I'm leaning toward the APC linen drawstring dress at ETC, but I'm also in need of a simple pair of sandals that can work with a dress. Has anyone tried Ancient Greek Sandals? I usually don't wear heels or wedges, but this one looks doable.

a.p.c.? yes!

i admit it, i stopped looking at a.p.c.'s clothing about a year ago. the prices, blah designs, and lessening quality have kept me away. yesterday i was at robber and saw a few madras pieces that i liked. and this morning while browsing la garconne's new arrivals, i was surprised to find quite a few things from the main line that i wanted.

beach dress

washed denim shirt

drawstring linen dress

add something bright in sunny yellow or coral, and i'm all set for summer.

ETA
the drawstring linen dress is only $175 at Eaton Trading Co. with the R29 reserve deal

Shifting winds

Spring in Toronto is at its mercurial best these days. Last night we were treated to a long lightning show.

We're leaving for a week long visit to cambridge in two weeks. I can't wait to see friends and eat at my favorite places. I had been hoping to go shopping for new clothes and sandals, but to be honest, I'm not in the mood.

I was lucky to fit into my regular clothes at 4 weeks post-Leon, but this time around has really done a number on me. I'm feeling both humbled by the experience and anxious about wearing anything besides leggings.

So as much as I'd like a new pair of jeans or a simple summer dress (vanessa Bruno athe at anaise 'printemps' 20% off) I think I'll sit this season out.
