imogene + willie denim

aside from being obsessed with bow + arrow's blog, i'm also intrigued by owner lauren's jeans, which are the imogene from imogene+willie (also at steven alan). mid-rise, stove-pipe leg, rigid wash. i love rigid or raw denim, but after two pairs of a.p.c. hipsters, i'm wary of how they'll fit. raleigh denim is also a possibility, but i haven't tried either on yet. i'll be in cambridge at the end of may for a week and might order a few things to be sent to our old place.

I have a pair of the I + W Elizabeths and I love them beyond reason (I'm long waisted so have been on a desperate hunt for something high waisted that wasn't ridiculously skinny in the legs). Jess is a total peach about helping with the fit, too... I'll be curious to see what works for you!

My dream is to go to Nashville for a long weekend and (among other things, of course) get a custom pair of Imogene + Willie jeans. Will be interested to see what you have to say about 'em!

I feel you about the raw denim. Tried on a pair of APC New Standards and nearly passed out from the chafing, especially around the hips.

heather-good to hear that you love your elizabeths! i like that the leg isn't super skinny on their jeans, too.

sarge in charge-my dream vacation is to do a tour of the south (savannah, nashville, and bourbon country). once this baby is birthed and i'm on my way back to normal, i'll have to email jess about fit.

joyce-i agree, raw denim can be tough on the body! matthew only does apc new standards, and they look amazing one year out.

i've tried on apc jeans a few times and they don't fit me right at all! i keep hoping they will, but nope. my friend gave me a pair of raleigh denim and i really like the fabric, sturdy but soft.

yay, cambridge in may! we'll have to meet up.

I was just in Nashville this past weekend and made the trip to the Imogene + Willie store, and yes, I now own a pair of the Imogene rigids. I'm totally in love. The people at the store were great and I'm gladly putting in the time to make them mine. No chafing!

The Bow+Arrow blog revealed she wears I+W in stretch custom ordered to be narrower and shorter. So not rigid or standard.
